My reflection

Sitting here reflecting on this project I’ve learned a lot for example the origin of the name of gif. Which comes from freaking peanut butter of all things!!! I also learned that gifs cannot lose their quality because the format. We learned these facts through online articles.

I also learned that I really enjoy working as part of a team. Working with Natalia and Flosie was a really refreshing way of working on a project because it was a very natural group and it came very naturally to bounce ideas off each other.

I discovered that gifs have a long history that’s longer than I’ve been alive. The creator Steve Wilhite had some weird motivations behind the name. I also learned that making a good gif is a lot more difficult than it looks even if you are using a website like Giphy.com.

I’ve learned that I like working in a video format and wheatear that be creating an idea that needs to be filmed or being filmed I like that dynamic.

Like in any project there are success’ and failure’s in this project some of the success’ would be the video in our presentation as it was a part where we all put all our energy into it. The failure I would say is my own gif’s as they are probably the weakest part of the presentation.

The final update!!!!!

Tomorrow is the day!!!!

I've finished my parts of the presentation. I'm just waiting on the finale pieces of from Flosie and Natalia. As a group we have learned many things like how Gif is pronounced "Jif". I honestly didn't think that there would be so much background about the origins of gif's. I was completely taken back when I found out that Steve Wilhite wanted to name it after his favorite peanut butter but jut changed the first letter like wow!!!!!

As individuals we learned mostly from websites and online articles (because that's are nature online I guess.) We brought what we learned and structured are presentation around the most relevant information and formed a script for are video. I learned that I actually enjoy have a dynamic where everyone in a group where everyone is somewhat a leader. For example when I would suggest we did something and the one of the girls was unsure and then I would insist we at least try it out. We all took this approach If we really thought something would make the presentation better. This didn't always work but when it did it was an amazing feeling. I also learned that I improve on my own ideas when I have someone to bounce off. Flosie and Natalia where to great team members to bounce ideas off of.

From my own Non biased opinion I think we are gonna have one of the best presentation in the class. Mainly because we don't just have a few slides of just writing. We have a video that we put a lot of effort into to deliver the information in an entertaining way. I would have preferred more time just with timing of Natalia go to Moldova if we even had an extra week we could have maybe added like 10% to are already 100% killer presentation. Wish us luck.

Progress of mission 1

I joined a group with Flosie and Natalia. We have decided to do mission on art of the animated gif. In this blog entry I will be talking about my hopes for what I will learn from working with the girls and what I hope to gain from this project myself.

We all decided in our lab that we wanted to do the art of animated gif. Then we had to decide on how we wanted to present. Natalia had the brilliant idea that we make a video for are presentation. After a few minutes of discussing how that would work we all came to agreement that we would.

As a group we decided this was a pretty smart way to do the presentation as many people would not do that (hopefully). The only issue we had with creating a video is well it's very time consuming and we had the added issue that one of us was traveling to Moldova (Natalia!!!). So we set about planning the filming and then Natalia would deal with the editing and me and Flosie would  deal with creating the presentation.

We all met the morning of the recording to plan how we were going to structure the video and to share what we had learned. Then we chose the information that would make it into the video.

I learned a lot from Natalia and Flosie. For example from Natalia I learned you can actually make the process of making a presentation as enjoyable as the finished product. From Flosie I learned to keep positive and it's ok to make as many mistakes as you need to before you get it right. I hoped to learn more about the history of gif's and their creation which I did.

All that's left to do is the final bits of the presentation and then present let's hope it all goes to plan.

Methodology reflection 3

So, I’m sitting here reflecting on this last mission and I mean I’ve learned a lot. I’m happy with the grade I got and all and in a bitter...
